Trek to Harishchandra Fort
This is one of the best treks I have done. The Harishchandra
fort is located in borders of 3 districts Ahmednagar, Pune and Thane.
We enjoyed the trek on 30 -31st Dec
2012 from Pune. We start the trek at 2 pm from base village Khireshwar. We
reach on fort (Mahadev temple) at 7 pm.
Duration: Minimum 2 days.
Trek level: Medium
Way to Reach: there are 2/3 ways to reach at fort.

From Rajur village
Accommodation: Ganesh Caves near mahadev
temple are good to stay.
Water availability: On fort, water is available in the tanks near the caves and
mahadev mandir but while trekking you need to carry water (2 ltr. each).
Food: tea and food is available on fort. (pithal-bhakari,maggi
,phoha etc.)
Time to reach : min 4 hours.
